Women at CES / Girls at GCHQ

Nice story from AP caught my eye. It seems that the male-dominated Consumer Electronics Show (CES) now has 49 female keynote speakers and 45% female speakers. Apparently 60% of the women are WOC as well.

Previously the only women one would find at these tech shows were “booth babes” catering to the 90% male audience. That has naturally made it hard for actual female participants to be taken seriously.

The British signal intelligence organisation GCHQ has created a challenge for British girls aged 12-13 to become interested in the cybersecurity field. More in the Sunday Times (paywall) or Daily Mail.
